Tony
Garnier has executed about thirty projects during his whole
career. The most famous resulted from his lasting collaboration
with the Mayor of Lyon, Edouard Herriot, at a time when Tony
Garnier was Architect in chief of the municipality. They are:
Abattoir
of la Mouche - Halle Tony Garnier (1909-1928), Hospital
of Grange-Blanche today Hospital Edouard Herriot (1910-1933),
Municipal
Stadium of Gerland (1914-1926) and Social
Housing area "Les Etats-Unis" (1921-1933).
Tony Garnier started his Lyon career in 1905, by building the
Municipal
dairy, commissioned by then mayor of Lyon,
Victor Augagneur.His last emblematic
monument is Boulogne
- Billancourt Municipality City Hall (1931-1933).
