Tony Garnier to the Urban Museum
quarter of the "Etats-Unis" memories
Born in the 1930's from a innovative
project, the social housing quarter of the "Etats-Unis"
has adapted itself to comfort and modernity.
As in a vilage and thanks
to a great solidarity, inhabitants have taken up social struggles,
become involved in war and commit themselves to protecting
their living place. Thanks to archives and relying on inhabitant's
first hand evidence, a whole history reveals itself. 70 years
of daily life, of major and minor events form a collective
memory which creates its own myths.

Organised by the Parisian
office of the "Grand Lyon", this exhibition dealt with the
Great Municipal Projects of Lyon. |
