Tony Garnier's Urban
Museum is an OPAC
du Grand Lyon creation.
It was established, between 1987 and 2001, by the artists
of Cité
de la Création and the inhabitants of the "Etats-Unis"
area, gathered in a Tenants Committee.
The creation of the Museum would not have been possible without

In 1991, UNESCO
awarded Tony Garnier's Urban Museum the World Decade of
the Cultural Development Label. This international ackowledgement
enabled Cité de la Création to commission international
artists to create six more painted
walls.
The international dimension of Tony
Garnier's Urban Museum would not have seen the light without
the support of private sponsorship, which was awarded in 1994
through the Sponsorship Oscar / Télérama
